The astrology birth chart is often overlooked in favor of the sun sign. However, this chart is capable of giving you more details about your personality and future than any reading that considers the sun sign. After all, the sun sign is simply one part of this chart. On the other hand, it can be difficult to read the chart. Here is a short guide to help you out.

The Tips
  • The Circle
  • A circle is the base on which any birth chart is made. After making the circle, it is bisected by a horizontal line which represents the horizon. Any planet that was visible in the sky when you were born will be placed above this line. In the same manner, the planets placed below the lines are those that were not visible at the time of your birth. These charts do not deal in astrology by date of birth only but take the time into consideration as well.

  • The Zodiac
  • The circle will be further divided into 12 sections with equal degrees. Each of these sections is representative of one of the twelve signs of the zodiac in astrology. These sections are called Houses and each house governs a particular aspect of your personality and life. The first house is located on the left side underneath the horizontal dividing line.

  • The Ascendant
  • In astrology, the sign located on the left side of the horizon is known as the rising sign or the ascendant. The fact is that the rising sign tends to change after two hours. The ascendant governs how you will be presenting yourself to the world. As a result, you must know the exact time of your birth.

  • The Planets
  • After placing the signs on the birth chart circle, the planets along with the Sun and the moon are positioned on it based on their locations at the time of your birth.
